Lady Allum Care

Our Care Offering

Lady Allum offers a warm, vibrant, welcoming environment. With substantial space for residents and families to get together - either in the lounges, courtyards or any one of the many seating areas in the wide corridors.

The staff are friendly and caring and are supported by two highly experienced Clinical Managers.

Activities Programme

The Activity Team put on a weekly Activity Programme, which residents are invited to and assisted to attend. There’s a wide variety of activities with something for everyone - from Van Outings to Entertainers for our weekly Happy Hour.

There are the Word Games and Quizzes to keep the brain going, the never-to-be-missed Housie and the popular Exercise and Bowls sessions to keep the body moving . We have recently introduced the game of Boccia, which is  becoming very popular with our residents.  Not to be forgotten, there’s time for one-on-one chats with residents who are unable to participate in activities.

You can also choose from Art and Craft, Cooking or Garden Club and there’s even a Men’s Group (which the ladies are thinking of busting into!) We have visiting schools and a variety of demonstrations and the residents all look forward to Robyn from Outreach Therapy bringing her Bichon Frise 'Monty".
The highlights of our year are the Twilight Evening Dance in March and our Spring Fling  in September. There is always something fun happening here - just follow the sound of laughter.

  • "Please pass on our thanks to you and your team who have done a marvellous job in caring and settling him in. The professionalism and level of care has been excellent." - Daughter of Oceania resident

  • "You are all very special people, I saw the dignity and respect you show all the residents including my mum, I head back overseas in the knowledge she is very well cared for." - Daughter of Oceania resident

  • "I love to be here. The staff are absolutely incredible. I feel so safe and that's the main thing." - Dorothy Girven, Oceania Resident

  • "Rettie, thank you, all of your staff have done more than we could have ever achieved alone. 2 years and 5 months after our mum fell down and broke her hip – she has melted with your persistent loving care and got up from her chair. Mum’s psychogeriatricist said she may never get up. You have proved this wrong." - Family member of Oceania resident

  • "It occurs to me that 'the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.' To me this means the endless patience, encouragement, support and tireless care your staff give my family cannot be understated." - Family member of Oceania resident

  • "The staff I had most contact with were Diane, Lorraine and Mia. They have been just fantastic, but I realise that everyone has contributed to Mum’s overall care. There were mornings when I had to wait for the staff to finish hugging Mum and telling her to have a lovely time when I came to take her out." - Family members of Oceania resident

  • "Just want to let you know how happy and grateful our family is, not only for the superb care you’re providing for our Mum but also for the wonderful respect and kindness everyone shows to residents and family members." - Family of Oceania resident

  • "On more than one occasion, the nurses came in to talk to Alan and say goodbye to him for the day, before they left at the end of their shift. They all loved him and cared for him in a most special way, even though Alan was unable to speak very much due to a stroke." - Niece of Oceania resident

  • "The wonderful feeling of safety cannot be underestimated. The ability to join any activity, watch or abstain gives a great sense of freedom. I have enjoyed the companionship of similar ages like me and getting to know the amazing talent of these new friends. I have found the nursing staff so patient, caring an loving to their very dependent patients. God bless them." - Mrs Rhona Pilkington, Lady Allum resident
