St Johns Wood Care

Our Care Offering

St Johns Wood is close to Taupo’s town centre and all local amenities. A five-minute walk on flat footpaths gets you to the shops.

Beautiful Lake Taupo is also right there, so you can walk down or use your mobility scooter to enjoy the view, feed the ducks or experience the many local events held in Taupo.

Our homecare services enable our residents to stay in their own home environment safely and retain their independence for as long as possible. The residents at St Johns Wood are like family - they look out for each other.

Activities Programme

There’s always something happening at St Johns Wood. We have fish & chip evenings, happy hours, our own special Ballantynes Fashion Show, a midwinter ball and dinner, Flex and Stretch classes, bingo, guest speakers and shopping trips.

    Sini Paul

    Clinical Leader

Sini is a Registered Nurse who originally worked in a Cardio-Thoracic ward before starting work in aged care. She has 12 years experience in the field, and has been at St John's Wood since 2007. Sini loves working with the elderly, especially building relationships with the residents who feel like extra grandparents to her. In her free time Sini is kept busy with her active 2 year old son.

  • Hayley Tulett

    Hayley Tulett

Hayley is originally from the UK and moved to New Zealand around 10 years ago. She started helping out around the Village in 2007 when she was at school, and when a full time position came up in 2012 she was happy to stay. Hayley enjoys the variety of her job - no two days are ever the same. She also loves spending time with the residents who she says 'make it easy to work here'. In her free time Hayley enjoys being with friends and family, and reading a good book.

  • Susanne Farrell

    Susanne Farrell

    Activities Coordinator

Susanne has worked in various roles in aged care over the years, and retrained to take on the role of Activities Coordinator in 2007. She has seen a lot of changes since, and is still passionate about thinking of new ways to engage the residents. Susanne relishes the variety in her week - including organising theme days, crafts, movie nights and outings. Most of all she enjoys the special connection she forms with the residents she works alongside. In her spare time she is an avid gardener and scrap-booker, and is currently researching her family tree.

  • Martin Tulett

    Martin Tulett

    Maintenance Manager

Martin moved from Sussex, England to Taupo with his family in 2005. He worked with various electrical companies in the UK, the last position was 15yrs at Gatwick Airport looking after British Airways properties. He likes the fact that the work at St Johns Wood and Wharerangi is varied and there are lots of different jobs to keep busy with.

In his spare time he is the training officer for Coastguard Lake Taupo as well as one of their skippers, this means the occasional call out to help on the lake. He also likes photography and playing the guitar, although probably not the sort of music the residents would like.
