Totara Park is a unique village situated within a beautiful native forest reserve. Our village offers a refreshing lifestyle with a strong community feel.
Totara Park has a strong affiliation with the community, including a group called ‘Friends of Totara Park’ who dedicate their time to taking residents on outings.
An onsite caretaker is available for any maintenance issues. 24 hour security monitoring is available and we have a gardener to look after our communal gardens
‘Friends of Totara Park’ regularly take residents on day excursions, dinners or movies. They also provide transport for a Friday morning shopping trip.
Within the village we have occasional shows and happy hours. Our residents’ social committee puts on a regular dinner and dance and there’s a once-a-week drop in for a cup of tea or chat in the community hall.
Warkworth township is within walking distance, where you can shop to your hearts content at either New World, Countdown or one of the many other local shops. You can also take a stroll along the Mahurangi River. Warkworth also has an RSA and Senior Citizens Club.
Matakana Village is within short driving distance and is an excellent place to visit on a Sunday morning to buy fresh produce.
All one and two-bedroom cottages are well-appointed with attractive outlooks to the gardens or reserve. They contain modern kitchens, wall-to-wall carpets, heat pumps, garaging and some have decks and conservatories leading out to well-maintained gardens.
The village consists of 31 cottages and a community hall. There is a 24/7 on-call security service, an onsite caretaker and full-time manager is also only a phone call away.

"I wish I had moved to the village much sooner than I did because the companionship is here when needed. The activity program has grown from strength to strength over the last two years. The location is excellent and the village has property to suit everyone's budget."
"I really welcomed the newsletters and the meetings with the Registered Nurse to set Mum’s care plan in place."
"The friendly environment is very comforting. I value my own space, which I have at the village, but there is also always a resident to have a cuppa and a chat with when needed."
"The advantage of having rest home and hospital care (on site) played a huge part in our buying."
"I am surrounded by lovely gardens and friends and neighbours. It is a great comfort, you never need to feel alone and I know I only have to press a bell if I need help."
"On the first day several residents popped in with muffins or small bunches of flowers to make sure Mum felt welcome. It was not long before she knew someone who knew someone and indeed knew some of the residents directly. It was a big move for Mum and she has settled really well thanks to the team."
"To me, the security and peace of mind are very comforting. Also, my husband lives in the hospital so I can spend as much time as I want with him. The newly refurbished community centre is becoming the hub of the village."
