Palm Grove Retirement Village

Our Village Living Offering

Palm Grove is a purpose-built village that opened in December 2003. We are very proud of our wonderful Facility and have a dedicated team of staff who assist our residents with the utmost privacy, respect and dignity.

Staff undertake training of a high level and are experienced and qualified. Palm Grove employs around a total of 100 people, including managers, nurses, healthcare assistants, activities coordinators, cooks and kitchen assistants, housekeepers and maintenance staff.

We have 32 villas set around our beautiful, award-winning gardens, making the village feel safe and secure. We also have care suites and apartments to accommodate a more assisted level of independent living.

Activities Programme

Palm Grove has a wonderful, comprehensive activities programme that encourages residents to keep motivated and have some fun.

On a daily basis we have exercise classes and newspaper reading. There are also arts and craft days, quizzes and cooking. Manicures can be arranged onsite. Happy hour is every Friday, often with visiting entertainers, and there are weekly mini bus trips.

What’s Near By

Palm Grove is close to The Palms shopping mall and residents often enjoy a trip to the shops. The Palms also has a cinema on the top level. The Shirley Golf Course is nearby and the Home Base shopping centre is 10 minutes walk away. There is a hotel and local shops next door and a bus stop at the gate for shopping excursions.

Dwelling Features

All villas are built to a high standard and feature modern kitchens, two bedrooms, good sized lounge, storage and internal access garage. We provide a heat pump and quality drapes are part of the package.

  • "I wish I had moved to the village much sooner than I did because the companionship is here when needed. The activity program has grown from strength to strength over the last two years. The location is excellent and the village has property to suit everyone's budget." - Bessie Salmons, Oceania Resident

  • "I really welcomed the newsletters and the meetings with the Registered Nurse to set Mum’s care plan in place." - Daughter of Oceania resident

  • "The friendly environment is very comforting. I value my own space, which I have at the village, but there is also always a resident to have a cuppa and a chat with when needed." - Elizabeth Head, Oceania Resident

  • "The advantage of having rest home and hospital care (on site) played a huge part in our buying." - Ley Quennell, Oceania resident

  • "I am surrounded by lovely gardens and friends and neighbours. It is a great comfort, you never need to feel alone and I know I only have to press a bell if I need help." - Mary Harris Oceania Resident

  • "On the first day several residents popped in with muffins or small bunches of flowers to make sure Mum felt welcome. It was not long before she knew someone who knew someone and indeed knew some of the residents directly. It was a big move for Mum and she has settled really well thanks to the team." - Son of Oceania resident

  • "To me, the security and peace of mind are very comforting. Also, my husband lives in the hospital so I can spend as much time as I want with him. The newly refurbished community centre is becoming the hub of the village." - Val Payne, Oceania Resident
