Dunblane Care

Our Care Offering

Our beautifully landscaped, award winning gardens are the perfect setting for a home focused on providing happiness and comfort.

Situated in inner Kaiti, Dunblane has a reputation for its warm, friendly atmosphere and provision of high quality clinical care.

At Dunblane, we treat every resident as a valued member of our special community.

Activities Programme

Dunblane has two Diversional Therapists supported by around 100 community volunteers, who provide a wide range of activities and events, seven days a week.

At the heart of Dunblane is the Jan Williams Lounge where the focus is on fun activities, exercise and end of week happy hours.

There are numerous outings into the community using our van. Destinations include ice-creams at Okitu beach, trips around the countryside, the Cossie Club and RSA.

Church services are a regular event at Dunblane. The Catholic Church, St Mary’s Star of the Sea, provides weekly services while Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian services are held weekly on a rotating basis.

Regular resident meetings determine the preferred type of activities while care plans also reflect individual preferences.

  • "Thank you to your team for all the organising and effort to celebrate Matariki on Sunday. Everybody enjoyed it immensely. It was so lovely having all the families together, getting to know one another. Once again thank you" - Family of Dunblane Resident

  • "Firstly I want to thank you all for your time and the respect you gave me last week when I was visiting Dunblane.  It is very much appreciated and I feel so grateful for the care and concern you have for my dear mother. Once again I reiterate that we are all so thankful to the staff of Dunblane for the way you look after our Mum and I am overwhelmed at the love and compassion she receives from her carers.  I can not thank you enough.” - Family of Dunblane resident

  • 'It was the best move I ever made. My husband was a patient and could not have been looked after better. He had more fun than he would have staying at home with me! People are so nice, everybody knows everybody - it's like a large family. Staff that were there then are still there now and I've been here 10 years. Everyday I think how lucky I am and I couldn't wish to be anywhere better.' - Dunblane Resident

  • 'I went to all the places in Gisborne and just loved Dunblane - I decided it was the place for me on the spot! The staff are lovely, helpful and polite. What I like is the friendliness - everyone is on the same level, we're like sisters. My youngest son told me when I moved in "Mum I am so happy for you to be here" It's the best decision I ever made. - Rae Comperthwaite, Dunblane Resident

  • 'Dunblane is very family oriented, everyone seems to care for everyone else. The best thing was that I was able to have my cat, who has settled in well and is now spoilt by everyone. The rooms are nicely appointed, and I have an exceptionally nice room. My family is very pleased I've settled in so well.' - Mary Webb, Dunblane Resident

  • It's absolutely wonderful! We love the friendliness and the staff and management are great. The gardens are just beautiful with natural shows of plants in each different season. - Bill and Nona, Dunblane Residents

  • "I would like to thank you and your staff for the care you provided to my patient, and the professional manner in which you did so. When I visited he expressed that he was very happy with his situation" - Doctor of a Dunblane Resident

  • “I have been with Dunblane for a long time, since I was originally in the cottages, I sleep well at night because I know I am well looked after. I call here home now because it is my home.” - Dunblane resident

  • “I just love the activities and entertainment put on, I had no idea places like this existed. I thought they were just for royalty.” - Rosemary, Dunblane resident
