Our Care offering

Elderslea has the best of both worlds being close to shops and motorways but nestled in a peaceful spot away from the main road. With a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, residents quickly feel right at home. There’s always something happening in our main lounge - find a friend to chat to or join in the day’s events. If it’s peace and quiet you crave, relax in the beautiful courtyard, or settle in a comfy chair in one of our many cosy nooks.

We don’t have visiting hours at Elderslea because we know it’s important you stay connected to your community. It’s home so friends and family can join you anytime for a catch up. We’re close to several main roads and around the corner from the bus stop and train station, so it’s a breeze for visitors to pop in, or get you out and about to local shops and cafes.

Activities Programme

Hop in the village van for a jaunt, you’ll never know where it will take you next. Off for a private garden tour or hot chips at Plimmerton beach, there’s an exciting new destination each week. Or if it’s music you’re in to, enjoy your own personalised playlist with I Love Music. Join in the fun with visits from Canine Friends, daily exercises, theme days and Happy Hour, there’s something for everyone no matter what you’re interested in.

Food

Elderslea’s culinary team is led by Chef Rodney who is a 3-time winner of the Senior Lifestyles Cuisine Competition. With tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings… there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home. Visitors are also welcome to join residents at our Mint Café which offers delicious home-made baking and hot drinks.

Award Winning Care

Great care is what we do, and we’ve got the accolades to prove it. You can be sure you’re in good hands. Oceania has won the Supreme Care Award from the NZ Aged Care Association 3 years in a row. When it comes to your care, you know what you like and don’t like - and we want to know too. Because everyone is different all of our residents get a personalised care plan where from meals to medications, everything that’s important to you is covered.
