Eversley Care


Our Care Offering

The Care Home has well maintained, beautiful grounds with stunning established trees. Being right beside Cornwall Park and Stream, duck families are frequent visitors. The Care Facility is a well known landmark in Hastings with it’s gracious old charm and chandeliers. Eversley is home to cats Bobby and Socks,  and miniture poodle Tigger visits on weekdays.


Activities Programme

The Eversley Activity Program is varied and fun filled with craft activities, games, sing a-longs, exercise groups and bus excursions, just to mention a few. Our diversional therapist keeps programs varied and interesting.


What’s Near By

Situated in a quiet Hastings suburb surrounded by established older homes, the small village enjoys the beautiful Cornwall Park well known for it’s cricket pitch and club rooms. The park has stunning gardens, bird aviaries and children’s play area and is right next door to the Villas. Mayfair shopping center is just two blocks away where there is a Pharmacy, Bakery, two mini Superettes, Hairdresser and Beauty therapist. Hastings City Center is just a few blocks away.

    Business and Care Manager

    Margaret has been in a management role in aged care since 1998. Margaret has a passion for Dementia care, and has recently finished the DHB course 'Walking in their shoes'. She believes in the importance of having aspects of each resident's history and background informing their care. Margaret has two lovely grandchildren and in her spare time enjoys going to the beach, spending time with her dogs, and painting.

  • Irene O'Connell

    Clinical Manager

    Irene formerly worked as a Community Palliative Care Nurse for 15 years. Often working with the elderly she was attracted to aged care, and brings a range of skills and experience to our Eversley team. Irene enjoys mentoring staff, finding ways to improve systems, and building relationships with residents and their families. Irene would happily spend all of her free time outside and loves to cycle, garden and visit her local beach.

  • Jona Mabunga

    Registered Nurse

    Jona has a great deal of experience in Healthcare having trained as a nurse in the Philippines she worked in the neonatal intensive care unit before become a Clinical Tutor, training and lecturing Level 4 Nursing students. When she moved to New Zealand she was interested in Aged Care as it is not a service readily available in the Philippines. She loves being able to support residents and connect with them and their families. Outside of work Jona is kept busy looking after her 6 year old daughter.

  • Brad Pinker


    Before joining Oceania Brad had a Catering Company and ran a Charter in the Chatham Islands. Coming to Eversley has been a change of pace, and he finds it really rewarding working with the residents and describes it ‘like having 50 grandparents who are really appreciative and supportive’. Brad recently won a silver medal in the National Senior Lifestyle Cuisine Competition. In his free time he loves fishing and hunting (and the residents love his whitebait fritters!).

  • Helen Halliday

    Registered Nurse

    Helen has been working in Aged Care since 2001 and loves the variety and flexibility of her role. No two days are ever the same, and she loves being in an amazing team that really go out of their way to improve the lives of the residents. Outside of work she is a keen gardener and enjoys going to restaurants, wineries and her holiday home in Taupo. Helen is married with two grown up children and is a Justice of the Peace.
