Holmwood Care

Our Care Offering

Holmwood is often described by residents and relatives as having a warm and homely atmosphere. Many of our team and residents are locals who know each other from the community, which adds to the friendly feel of the facility.

Our staff have a wealth of experience in Aged Care, and are always welcoming with ready smiles. At Holmwood we love to socialise, and our lounges are well utilised for regular activities and catch-ups with family and friends. The dining room is another busy haven where residents join for fantastic home cooked meals of all those popular family favourites. There are two cats and one dog onsite too.

We’ve got a choice from standard rooms to Care Suites, so no matter your needs or budget, there are plenty of options.

Activities Programme

Our Activities Coordinator is creates a varied activities programme for the enjoyment and benefit of our residents. This includes bowls, housie, quizzes and walks. There are regular outings to local points of interest such as Hamner hot pools, Akaroa, the river for picnics, the Alpaca farm, Museum or if it’s wet, a casual drive and ice cream. We have many local schools and pre-schools who come to visit regularly. Our activities programme is supported by a team of volunteers from our local community.

Mum’s psychogeriatricist said she may never get up. You have proved this wrong." - Family member of Oceania resident

There were mornings when I had to wait for the staff to finish hugging Mum and telling her to have a lovely time when I came to take her out." - Family members of Oceania resident

  • "Just want to let you know how happy and grateful our family is, not only for the superb care you’re providing for our Mum but also for the wonderful respect and kindness everyone shows to residents and family members." - Family of Oceania resident

They all loved him and cared for him in a most special way, even though Alan was unable to speak very much due to a stroke." - Niece of Oceania resident
