Ohinemuri Care

Our Care Offering

"Home is where our story begins..."

Ohinemuri is a purpose-built, single storied care centre, that provides a continuum of care and a wide range of services. These services and care are designed to meet the level of help and support you require.

We care for our residents in a warm, friendly and welcoming community setting. Every resident has a private, modern room with built in furniture - some with en suite facilities. They are encouraged to make the place feel like home by  bringing their own things.

As well as long-term accommodation, we offer short stay options through GP referral, respite care, and transitional care following hospital discharge. We have a total of 53 care beds available on site.

Activities Programme

We have an enthusiastic activity team who provide a stimulating activity and therapy programme for all residents at all levels of care. The community are an important part of life at Ohinemuri and are encouraged to be part of the activity programme. Cultural events and spirituality are also aspects of the programme offered. Theme weeks form the basis of the activities which include crafts, games, reminiscence and yummy food. Exercises are part of the daily routine to keep our residents fit and healthy.

What's near by

Situated in the "world famous" historic town of the L & P, Paeroa won the 2012 NZ community of the year - the 'little town in the middle of everywhere'. Home to the Hauraki Rail trail which has promoted the growth of cafes and restaurant's serving every type of local or international dish. The town is renown for its many antique and second had shops, and hosts the annual Scottish Highland games. There is fascinating history and beauty in the Karangahake gorge, where the first miners and kauri bushmen worked and resided.

The nearby domain is a great place for a stroll with a play area for the young ones, and a location for lots of family days and community events. An art gallery and museum are located in the main street displaying new and old art and artefacts.
