The Oaks Care

Our Care Offering

Set amongst charming, award-winning gardens, The Oaks has the kind of warm, welcoming atmosphere that quickly makes residents and their families feel at home.

At The Oaks, we offer a range of Premium Rooms including Care Suites, which means no matter your needs or budget, there are plenty of options.
Care Suites are designed to give you more flexibility, plus that little bit of luxury you deserve. Both Rest Home and Hospital care can be provided in your Care Suite, which means you can relax knowing you won’t have the upheaval of moving again if your needs increase.

Your Care Suite is designed to be your forever home, so you’ll be able to stay in the same familiar place, with your friends around you and the staff who know you best caring for you. You own the right to occupy your Care Suite, so you can personalise it with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces. A DHB assessment is not required for care that is paid for privately.

All Care Suites have a heat pump and full en-suite, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge and a microwave – perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family come to visit. Some suites are large enough for couples, so you can be together, even if one of you requires Hospital level care.

Hop in the village van for a jaunt, you'll never know where it will take you next. Ice cream at New Brighton Beach or a scenic drive for tea at Tai Tapu - there's an exciting new destination every week. Or if it's music you're into, enjoy your own personalised playlist with our award-winning I Love Music programme.

Tender Sunday roasts, hot fish and chips and scrummy homemade puddings… there’s a reason why the dining room is full before dinner! All of the above are regular features on our menu, which is packed with tasty family favourites you’d make at home. You’ll be sure to be up for second helpings!

Award-Winning Care

Great care is what we do and we’ve got the accolades to prove it. Oceania’s won the supreme award from the New Zealand Aged Care Association 3 years in a row, so you can be sure you’re in good hands. When it comes to your care, you know what you like and don’t like - and we want to know too. Because everyone is different all our residents get a personalised care plan. From meals to medications, everything that’s important to you is covered.

  • When our Mums and Dads get to the age when they can no longer care for themselves it is never easy for the family to help them make the right decision. The Oaks has made that easy. It is wonderful seeing the excellent care Mum gets, I can also see that every one else is treated the same. We have had so many laughs and much of that is because of your wonderful, caring, patient, professional staff. - Barb, Daughter of a resident at The Oaks

  • "My move to The Oaks seemed scary as I thought it was "the end of life" village but it has been painless to move and also been the start of a new chapter in my life. Thank you to the friendly staff for offering me the security and meeting all the welcoming residents in the village." - Mrs Lesley Coupland

  • "It was the best move my husband and I made. I feel safe and secure." - Mrs Helen Davis- Goff

  • Having spent the last 8 days in and out of the Oaks visiting Mum I just want to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU. Whilst waiting for taxis in the evening I have read The Oaks vision/mission several times and can honestly say that this is a residential village that 'delivers'. - Daughter of a Resident at The Oaks
