Whareama Care


Our Care Offering

Whareama is a warm and welcoming home in the heart of Stoke. With the library and supermarket just across the road, our residents are truly connected to the local community. Other shops and cafes are within easy walking distance.


Our main building is set in a lovely garden area where residents enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Delicious and nutritious home cooked meals are available and there’s an engaging activities programme to make every day interesting.


We recognise that our staff are our greatest asset. They live the Oceania values of Respect, Excellence and Passion and deliver outstanding care to Wharema’s residents. Oceania’s commitment to ongoing training and the opportunity to achieve a certificate level qualification keeps our people engaged and connected to Whareama’s ideals and, most importantly, the residents.


Activities Programme

Our programme is full of great choices, including sing-a-longs, pub quizzes and shopping trips. We also have monthly theme days and weekly entertainment.


Our newsletter ‘Connect with Whareama’ keeps everyone up-to-date with what’s happening at Whareama.


What’s Near By

The center of Stoke is only two minutes away and the beautiful railway reserve offers easy walking options close by. The Nelson Provincial Museum and Isel House is just across the Greenmeadows Park nearby.


With shopping and cafes around the corner, it’s easy for residents and families to enjoy the relaxed Nelson lifestyle.

    Sharon is a registered nurse with over 20yrs aged care experience. She has worked in a number of Management roles in the Nelson/Motueka area and has strong ties with the local Community. She is committed to providing an excellent service to the elderly, and her main areas of interest include Dementia and Palliative care.

    Clinical Manager

    Pinel is a Registered Nurse with over 17 years’ of experience. Her favourite part of her role as Clinical Manager is bringing smiles to the faces of residents and their families, and knowing that she and her team have made a difference in their lives. Pinel is always up for new challenges and supporting residents and staff to reach their goals. Outside of work Pinel enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, especially playing the guitar and singing with them. She also enjoys karaoke and dancing with friends and family.
