Dunblane Retirement Village

Our Village Living Offering

Dunblane Village is nestled in inner Kaiti alongside the historic Dunblane Home. The small village comprising thirteen villas, is a friendly old style community where people know their neighbours and look out for each other.

Our Village is a desirable destination for those in the community who want to maintain their independence, but want help on hand if required.

Homely and affordable, our 1 and 2 bedroom villas are ideally situated amongst established trees and picturesque, award winning gardens.

Activities Programme

Residents are encouraged to participate in activities that are provided, including daily exercise, weekly outings, crafts and games. We also have weekly bowling competitions, a happy hour and Church services.

Dunblane Home has two Diversional Therapists, an activities coordinator and a large number of volunteers to support - so there is always something of interest happening.

  • 'Ted and I would like to say to you all, “thank you for being so warm and friendly”. It has been a massive change of venue for us and we were dreading having to do it but now we are smiling. The staff are warm and helpful and the neighbours have made us feel welcome. We have found the village an exciting new place to view and look forward to discovering new facets of it as we settle in.' - Ted & Faye, Dunblane Residents

  • 'It was the best move I ever made. My husband was a patient and could not have been looked after better. He had more fun than he would have staying at home with me! People are so nice, everybody knows everybody - it's like a large family. Staff that were there then are still there now and I've been here 10 years. Everyday I think how lucky I am and I couldn't wish to be anywhere better.' - Noelene Brookes, Dunblane Resident

  • 'I went to all the places in Gisborne and just loved Dunblane - I decided it was the place for me on the spot! The staff are lovely, helpful and polite. What I like is the friendliness - everyone is on the same level, we're like sisters. My youngest son told me when I moved in "Mum I am so happy for you to be here" It's the best decision I ever made. - Rae Comperthwaite, Dunblane Resident

  • 'Dunblane is very family oriented, everyone seems to care for everyone else. The best thing was that I was able to have my cat, who has settled in well and is now spoilt by everyone. The rooms are nicely appointed, and I have an exceptionally nice room. My family is very pleased I've settled in so well.' - Mary Webb, Dunblane Resident

  • It's absolutely wonderful! We're both still busy, but enjoy the friendliness and safety of being part of the village . Bill needed some medical attention - I pressed the button and nurses came running. Financially it's excellent, we get the pension but can live life with quality. I love hearing the mower going knowing I don't have to do it! They allowed us to bring our dog so she can live out her life with us. No one is overwhelming, you have your autonomy but we all help each other out. - Nona & Bill, Dunblane Residents
