Gracelands Retirement Village

Our Village Living Offering

Our lovely village is nestled in the heart of sunny Hawkes Bay, world famous for its vineyards and art deco. The villas are situated amongst beautiful landscaped grounds close to Hastings city and handy to all amenities. Gracelands prides itself in being able to allow you to retain your independence, lifestyle and privacy, with security and the comforting knowledge that there is always a friendly neighbour close by. ‘Why didn’t we come to live in Gracelands earlier’, is a comment heard quite frequently.

Additional Services

A menu is available so you can select the day you wish to dine. And we have a summer and winter menus, with lots of variety and yummy desserts. A complimentary glass of wine is available to be enjoyed with your meal. Wireless broadband is also available. The complimentary coffee and tea in the community centre provides a great reason for residents to get together regularly.

Activities Programme

We encourage residents to join in for a cup of tea and a chat with other residents, and sometimes with a guest speaker. There’s outdoor and indoor bowls, craft group, Rummikub, Bingo, happy hour and movies which are shown in the library.

The resident’s committee organises outings, mid-year and Christmas dinners, social evenings, movies, bingo, musicians and dancers for the resident’s entertainment. The committee also assists the Sales & Village Manager by organising social events for the village residents, operating the bar and “Happy Hour” and arranging bus trips. In the warmer months the committee arranges barbeques on a regular basis.

Every second month there is a bus tour/trip for the day.

What’s Near By

There is a bus stop outside our gate, which goes either to Napier City Centre as well as Hastings City Centre. Conveniently, this bus stops right outside the Hawkes Bay Hospital, which makes it easy for anyone having to attend a hospital appointment. There are loads of coffee shops nearby as well as fruit and veggie shops.

Stortford Lodge shops are minutes away from our village, which has banks, a pharmacy, a Post Shop and plenty of eateries.

Frimley Park is just down the road from our Lyndhurst Road gate with its beautiful rose garden. There is also a Four Square close by if you need something urgently.

Dwelling Features

Each villa is built of brick with aluminum windows and a tiled roof. All villas have two bedrooms with wardrobes in each room. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, vanity and mirror and/or cabinet. All bathrooms have a wet floor shower for ease of access. The laundry facilities can be found in the garage or bathroom. The majority of our villas have a separate kitchen and lounge, but we do have a few that are open plan living with modern amenities. The lounge has either a heat pump or gas heater and has a ranch slider that leads on to a conservatory or a patio.

All Villas have a single garage with electric opening door, some with an integral door from the lounge or second bedroom to the garage.

Village Features

The community centre is the hub of village life. We encourage you to utilise the facilities the centre provides. Papers are delivered each morning and there are recreational/lounge areas for reading, socialising over a cup of tea, or doing a crossword. There’s a large indoor heated pool available for residents to enjoy. Monthly church services are held in the library.
