Redwood Retirement Village

Our Village Living Offering

Redwood Village has a great residential community feel. The spacious park-like gardens have lots of roses and open lawns creating a beautiful aspect from most of the villas.

You can get involved in social activities as much or as little as you like. There’s always something happening in our social rooms, plus there’s a heated indoor swimming pool for you to enjoy. Our staff are diligent and well trained, taking pride in the village and their conduct. The manager is contactable 24/7 for maintenance and emergency situations.

Additional Services

Supplementary health services can be supplied on request, including meals, laundry and cleaning. Emergency pendants that alert our trained staff are offered with every villa and a morning welfare check phone call is an option that most residents have elected to do seven days a week.

Activities Programme

There is a full activity calendar sent out each month. It includes exercise mornings, knitting group gatherings, films, card and board game afternoons, croquet, morning teas with guest speakers, happy hours, BBQs, Pot Luck lunches and organized trips away from the village for social gatherings and meals.

What’s Near By

Redwood shopping centre is within easy walking distance from the village. Within a short drive or scooter ride proximity is an excellent butcher, Blenheim Farmers Market, public hospital, historical park, men’s shed, A&P show grounds, two convenience shops, croquet and bowling clubs. In the greater Marlborough region there are many attractions that are unique to the local area - wineries, Marlborough Sounds, aviation museum, Nelson Lakes National Park and Kaikoura coast, just to mention a few.

Dwelling Features

Most of our 46 villas are spacious two-bedroom dwellings. Many have bay windows and conservatories. Some have internal access garages. Most units have been recently refurbished, while some will be progressed with negotiation of the incoming resident at the time of sale.

Some of the features incorporated in refurbishment include: dishwasher, flat access showers with glass doors, large inverter heat pumps, LED lighting, new carpets, new drapes, kitchen upgrades and full repaint.

Village Features

We have a community centre/communal lounge, croquet green, smoke alarms,  plenty of lawn areas, nice landscaping, plenty of visitor parking, a village newsletter and a Residents Committee.

  • "I wish I had moved to the village much sooner than I did because the companionship is here when needed. The activity program has grown from strength to strength over the last two years. The location is excellent and the village has property to suit everyone's budget." - Bessie Salmons, Oceania Resident

  • "I really welcomed the newsletters and the meetings with the Registered Nurse to set Mum’s care plan in place." - Daughter of Oceania resident

  • "The friendly environment is very comforting. I value my own space, which I have at the village, but there is also always a resident to have a cuppa and a chat with when needed." - Elizabeth Head, Oceania Resident

  • "The advantage of having rest home and hospital care (on site) played a huge part in our buying." - Ley Quennell, Oceania resident

  • "I am surrounded by lovely gardens and friends and neighbours. It is a great comfort, you never need to feel alone and I know I only have to press a bell if I need help." - Mary Harris Oceania Resident

  • "On the first day several residents popped in with muffins or small bunches of flowers to make sure Mum felt welcome. It was not long before she knew someone who knew someone and indeed knew some of the residents directly. It was a big move for Mum and she has settled really well thanks to the team." - Son of Oceania resident

  • "To me, the security and peace of mind are very comforting. Also, my husband lives in the hospital so I can spend as much time as I want with him. The newly refurbished community centre is becoming the hub of the village." - Val Payne, Oceania Resident
