Stoke Retirement Village

Our Village Offering

Stoke Retirement Village is very close to the local shopping centre, making us a popular choice for those who don’t drive. Walking or on a mobility scooter, it takes just a few minutes to reach the shops.

The village is situated on the Railway Reserve, a great walking and cycling track, that’s well-known and very popular with locals. We are an affordable choice, because we are an independent village. Our fixed weekly fees are a lot less than competitors nearby and residents can still access home help from the community.

Stoke Retirement Village is spread over 4 locations all within a stone throw of each other. The largest location with 83 villas is Omaio at 188 Songer Street, with 22 villas at Brookgreen located 618 Main Road, 12 villas at 5-8 Andrew Street and 4 villas at 13 Pateke Street. All Stoke Retirement Village residents have access to the Omaio Community Centre and facilities regardless of their location.

Additional Services

We offer free blood pressure checks and a fortnightly Wellness Clinic that residents are welcome to attend. The Village Manager can accompany residents to specialist appointments if they are unable to get there on their own, or don’t have family who can take them (this service is dependent on availability).

Activities Programme

Activities at the village include weekly Tai Chi class and we have a "Sit and get Fit" exercise programme.

The residents themselves have organised a weekly games afternoon, and every second week there is a Social Hour to follow. We also have indoor bowls and church services, which happen in the community lounge.

Stoke Social Seniors is just around the corner from us, and will pick up residents and take them to their daily activities. They also organise outings and welcome new members.

What’s Near By

We strongly encourage lots of activities with the local community. There is a local indoor bowls club, Stoke Social Seniors, and an indoor swimming pool available at Ngawhatu.

There are two supermarkets at the local shopping centre, along with cafés, a pharmacy, fruit shop, library and a pub that sells reasonably priced meals.

Dwelling Features

Dwellings range from small refurbished 1 bedroom cottages with modern kitchens, to spacious 2 bedroom villas with conservatory and garage. We also have brand new, open plan villas with dishwasher, heat pump, level access bathrooms and double glazing.

Village Features

Within our village we have a newly refurbished community centre with a modern kitchen. The area can be used for community events as well as special family occasions.  The village has lovely landscaping throughout, plenty of visitor parking and there is a bi-monthly village newsletter.

Minimum age of entry  for residents is 70 years.
