Whitianga Care

Our Care Offering

Whitianga Continuing Care is a modern, purpose-built care centre that provides a wide range of services designed to meet the level of help and support you require.

We look after our residents in a warm, friendly and welcoming community setting. Every resident has a private, modern room – some with ensuite facilities - where they are encouraged to make the place feel like home by bringing their own things.

As well as long-term accommodation, we offer short stay options through GP referral, respite care and transitional care following hospital discharge. We have a total of 53 care beds available on site.

Activities Programme

Our extensive programme of activities includes movie afternoons, quoits, weekly happy hour, group exercise, Chi Gong, craft, petanque, housie and church services. We regularly organise themed celebration days, as well as community meetings with residents and their family members.

What’s Near By

Whitianga Continuing Care is a short stroll from the seafront walkway and the beach is just across the road. There is a nearby retail park and its not far from the Mercury Bay Library and Museum in the Whitianga shopping centre.

Many of our more active residents use their mobility scooters to visit the town or take a leisurely ride along the seafront when the mood takes them. For our residents who need a little more support, there are assisted shopping trips every week.

Mum’s psychogeriatricist said she may never get up. You have proved this wrong." - Family member of Oceania resident

  • "It occurs to me that 'the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.' To me this means the endless patience, encouragement, support and tireless care your staff give my family cannot be understated." - Family member of Oceania resident

There were mornings when I had to wait for the staff to finish hugging Mum and telling her to have a lovely time when I came to take her out." - Family members of Oceania resident

  • "Just want to let you know how happy and grateful our family is, not only for the superb care you’re providing for our Mum but also for the wonderful respect and kindness everyone shows to residents and family members." - Family of Oceania resident

  • "On more than one occasion, the nurses came in to talk to Alan and say goodbye to him for the day, before they left at the end of their shift. They all loved him and cared for him in a most special way, even though Alan was unable to speak very much due to a stroke." - Niece of Oceania resident
